NEET ( National Eligibility Entrance Test) is an entrance examination in India, for the students who wish to study MBBS, BDS and Post graduate courses. The test was actually announced by the government of India and was first initiated on 5 May 2013,the exam conducting authority of NEET. All the institutions,Deemed Universities are a part of common counselling for MBBS and BDS admission through NEET merit list only.
Eligibility Criteria for NEET:
The candidate must have completed 17 years of age and must be an Indian National. For under the control of State/Deemed Universities the eligibility are the candidate must have completed age of 17 years at the time of admission. Overseas citizens of India are eligible for admissions in medical and dental subject to rules and regulations framed by the respective state and government of India. The application fee for NEET is Rs.1400 for General/OBC and Rs.750 for SC/ST candidates.
Educational Qualification for NEET:
General – 50% in 12th or HSC
SC/ST/OBC – 40% in 12th or HSC
PH/PWB-45% in 12th or HSC
Exam Pattern:
The exam will be conducted in a pen and paper based format. The candidates will have to mark their answers in OMR answer sheet using a ball point pen. The duration of the exam is 180 minutes. The NEET question booklet will consist of 180 questions from all subjects in which Physics, Chemistry section has 45 questions each while, Biology section will comprise of 90 questions.The question paper will have objective type questions only, which means each question will consist of four responses. The question paper will be bilingual in language (i.e) English and Hindi both. When coming to the marking scheme each question in question paper will consist of four marks. For each correct answers candidate will get 4 marks whereas for each incorrect answers -1 mark will be deducted.
